The right vehicle for a Southampton cruise transfer depends on both the number of passengers and the amount and size of their luggage. A vehicle may have enough passenger seats but not enough boot space for everyone's cases.
That is why Gunwharf Executive Travel considers the number of passengers, the number of cases and their approximate size when recommending a vehicle.
Getting this right before travel helps everyone travel safely and comfortably.
What do we mean by a full-size suitcase?
Descriptions such as "large suitcase" can be misleading. One person's large case may be very different from another's.
For our vehicle capacity guidance, Gunwharf Executive Travel uses the following reference sizes. Measurements include wheels and fixed handles.
Full-size case
71 × 50 × 30 cm
Approximately 28 × 19.7 × 11.8 inches
Carry-on or cabin case
51 × 35 × 22 cm
Approximately 20.1 × 13.8 × 8.7 inches
We also use a medium case for size comparison:
64 × 44 × 26 cm
Approximately 25.2 × 17.3 × 10.2 inches
Our vehicle capacities are not based on an undefined description such as "large bags". They are based on the reference dimensions above.
